Dicronite® dry lubrication is a thin film (maximum 0.5 micron thickness) Tungsten Disulfide lubricant which processes parts to specification AMS2530 (DOD-L-85645A TYPE 1). Dicronite Southwest is AS9100 certified, meets ISO-10993 medical, RoHS compliant, FAA drug and alcohol approved and NADCAP pending. We are located in Upland, California near the 10 Freeway at the Mountain exit (See map here).

  • Tungsten Disulfide in lamellar form.
  • Hardness - 1.0 - 1.5 Moh's scale.
  • Molecular Weight - 248.02.
  • Density - 7.4 gms/cc.
  • Thickness - 0.000020 inch (0.5 microns) "maximum".
  • Appearance - on initial application silvergray, then polished rhodium when burnished.
  • Co-efficient of Friction - 0.030 inclined plane method, against itself.
  • Carrier - Dry air, no binders or adhesives.
  • Adhesion - mechanical - molecular interlock.
  • Cure Time - no cure time required, applied at ambient temperature.
  • Temperature Range - lubricates from -350°F to +1000°F (-188°C to +538°C) in normal atmosphere.
  • Chemical Stability - inert, non-toxic, corrosion resistant.
  • Corrosion Resistance - minor delay of corrosion, will not inhibit corrosion of substrate.
  • Magnetism - non-magnetic.
  • Vacuum Environment - -350°F to +2400°F (-188°C to +1316°C) temperatures of 10 -14 Torr.
  • Substrates - bonds to metals, platings and most man-made materials.
  • As A Substrate - accepts most paints and is compatible with most solvents, fuels and oils.
  • Load Capacity - same as the Substrate, to 350,000 psi (aprox. 2,450 MPa).
  • Lox Compatibility - insensitive to detonation by or in the presence of oxygen.
  • Degradation - will not cause distortive stress relief, additional stresses or degradation to any surface.
  • Approvals - USP (United States Pharmacopoeia) Class 6 and USDA.
  • ISO-10993 medically approved.
